Monymusk Plantation Overproof White Rum 1L

Monymusk rum comes from one of Jamaica's oldest sugar and rum producing properties, the Monymusk Estate in Lionel Town, Clarendon Parish. The estate's rums are produced by Clarendon Distillers Limited, a distillery built in 1949 that has operated on the estate ever since, carrying forward a rum making tradition on the property that predates the modern facility by generations. While overshadowed internationally by better known Jamaican names, Monymusk remains a respected source of authentic, estate distilled pot and column still rum.

Plantation Overproof White is distilled from Jamaican molasses using a blend of pot and column stills, then run through a third distillation pass for added purity and a cleaner spirit. The rum is left unaged and bottled colorless at 63% ABV, a strength in keeping with the classic overproof style long associated with Jamaican rum. The triple distillation trims back some of the heavy ester funk typical of the island's pot still rums, producing a spirit that leans brighter and more tropical than its heavier Jamaican counterparts while still carrying real character.

On the nose and palate it offers fresh coconut water, banana, and pineapple, with grassy, mineral notes and a touch of white pepper, finishing clean and smooth given its high proof.
