Planteray Cut and Dry Coconut Rum 700ml

Planteray, formerly known as Plantation Rum, is the rum arm of Maison Ferrand, a French spirits house owned by master blender Alexandre Gabriel and best known for its terroir-driven approach to both cognac and rum production. The brand adopted the Planteray name in early 2024, a change intended to reflect the sugarcane plant itself and the tropical sun that shapes it, while retaining the same commitment to craftsmanship across its range. This coconut expression was created in partnership with the West Indies Rum Distillery in Barbados.

Cut & Dry began with four years of experimentation working alongside local coconut farmers to land on the right process. Ripe coconuts are handpicked at peak maturity, and the white flesh is cut out and left to dry under the Caribbean sun before being infused into a base of Barbadian rum distilled at the West Indies Rum Distillery. Roughly one whole coconut goes into each bottle, and the finished spirit is bottled at 40% ABV with no added sugar.

The nose opens with fresh coconut flesh and coconut milk, along with soft touches of vanilla and baked banana. On the palate, toasted coconut carries through with gentle rum sweetness, light spice, and a smooth, creamy texture that leads to a clean, moderately long finish. It suits sipping neat or over ice, and mixes well into tropical or tiki-style cocktails.
