Knob Creek Rye earned early recognition when it took home Double Gold and was named Best Rye Whiskey at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2012, and in the years since, the brand added a formal seven-year age statement to the release, cementing its place as a bridge between traditional rye and bourbon drinkers.

Knob Creek doesn't disclose its exact mash bill, but it is widely believed to lean closer to bourbon proportions, sitting near the legal minimum of rye with a substantial share of corn rounding out the recipe. That composition gives the whiskey more sweetness and roundness than spicier, high-rye expressions, making it an accessible entry point for those who typically favor bourbon. The whiskey matures a minimum of seven years in deeply charred new oak barrels before bottling at 100 proof.
