Bright, unwooded, and released just a year after harvest, this 2023 Rosso di Montepulciano delivers the naturally crisp profile that distinguishes young Tuscan reds. Handled by the Della Seta family at their historic Montepulciano estate, the wine undergoes fermentation and aging exclusively in stainless steel tanks. By avoiding oak contact, the winemaking team preserves the estate’s organic vines’ natural acidity and keeps the wine focused on pure fruit expression.

The blend relies primarily on Prugnolo Gentile—the regional clone of Sangiovese—accented by a measured portion of Merlot to soften the edges. Aromas jump from the glass with red cherry, ripe raspberry, and baking spice, while subtle layers of dark chocolate and roasted hazelnut emerge upon swirling. The palate stays dry and agile, guided by polished tannins that transition smoothly into a refreshing, moderate-length finish.

Suggested food pairings:
  • Mixed charcuterie, cured salumi, and rustic bruschetta
  • Oven-baked pasta with tomato sauce or simple garlic preparations
  • Semi-aged cheeses such as aged Pecorino, Tomà, and firm cow’s milk varieties

Serve slightly chilled to highlight the wine’s summery freshness, making it a practical choice for weeknight dinners or outdoor entertaining where structure meets approachability.

89 Points
"The 2023 Rosso di Montepulciano entices with a wild whiff of spiced
citrus, giving way to crushed blackberries and a cascade of sweet spice.
This is juicy and lifted with a subtle blend of ripe wild blueberries and
blackberries that swirl across a core of brisk acidity. It tapers off spicy
and long, leaving a pleasantly bitter tinge and hints of chalk dust and
violet pastille.
