2025 Casa Lapostolle - Sauvignon Blanc Rapel Valley Grand Selection (750ml)
Casa Lapostolle was founded in 1994 by Alexandra Marnier Lapostolle, of the Grand Marnier family, and her husband, Cyril de Bournet, after they discovered a remarkable plot in the Apalta Valley within Colchagua. Alexandra brought generations of French winemaking tradition to Chile, pairing it with the country's still largely unexplored terroir potential, an approach the estate still describes as "French in essence, Chilean by birth." Today Charles de Bournet, representing the seventh generation of the family, leads the winery alongside technical director and winemaker Andrea León, continuing the push toward sustainability that helped Apalta earn its own official Denominación de Origen in 2018.
This Grand Selection Sauvignon Blanc comes from a distinct site in Cachapoal, within the broader Rapel Valley, sitting directly beneath the foothills of the Andes. The vineyard, known locally as Las Kuras, or "stones," takes its name from its distinctively stony soil, and the cool mountain air here helps preserve the grape's natural acidity and minerality through a long, careful ripening period.
The wine shows a pale yellow color with green edges, offering a clean, expressive nose of white fruit and citrus alongside floral notes and a hint of flinty minerality. The palate is fresh and textured, with bright acidity, good weight, and a long finish. It pairs beautifully with seafood, shellfish, or light salads.
