Glenfiddich 14 yr Bourbon Barrel Reserve Whiskey 750ml

Glenfiddich traces its roots to 1887, when William Grant founded the distillery in Dufftown, Scotland, using equipment acquired secondhand from the nearby Cardhu distillery. The name Glenfiddich means "valley of the deer" in Gaelic, a nod to the Speyside glen where the distillery still draws its water from the Robbie Dhu springs. More than a century later, it remains one of the best known single malt producers in the world, still family owned and still made in the same corner of Speyside.

This expression spends fourteen years maturing in ex-bourbon American oak casks before being transferred for several additional months into deeply charred virgin American oak, a finishing step meant to echo classic bourbon production. The result is a whisky bottled at 43% ABV that leans into rich caramel and vanilla character drawn from the fresh char, layered over the malt's traditional Speyside backbone.

The nose opens with warm butter toffee, baked apple, and toasted marshmallow, with cinnamon and orange peel emerging as it sits in the glass. On the palate, caramel and brown sugar dominate, backed by baking spice, vanilla, and a light char note from the finishing casks. The finish is medium in length, warm and slightly smoky, closing with a trace of dark chocolate.
