Tobermory Isle of Mull 12yr Single Malt 750ml

Tobermory distillery sits on the Isle of Mull in Scotland's Inner Hebrides, the only whisky producer on the island. Founded in 1798 by John Sinclair, the distillery has weathered several periods of closure over its long history and now operates under Distell, part of the Heineken group. Tobermory produces both an unpeated single malt under its own name and a peated expression called Ledaig, with the 12 Year Old serving as the flagship release since the core range was refreshed in 2019 following a two year hiatus for refurbishment.

This unpeated single malt is matured exclusively in ex-bourbon casks, drawing on the island's maritime air throughout the aging process. It is bottled at 46.3% ABV with natural color and without chill filtration, preserving the fuller texture and character that the cask maturation develops. The result reflects both the distillery's traditional approach and its coastal Hebridean setting.

The nose offers sweet, honeyed aromas of vanilla, ripe orange, and delicate flowers. On the palate, fresh citrus and apple lead into tropical fruit notes, followed by creamy toffee and floral honey, all underscored by a subtle salty edge. The finish carries that same interplay of sweetness and brine, closing gently with a lingering trace of oak.
