Glenmorangie Nectar d'Or (Sauterne Cask) Whiskey 750ml

Glenmorangie has distilled whisky on the shores of the Dornoch Firth in Tain, in the Scottish Highlands, for more than 175 years, and it remains one of the country's most storied producers. The distillery is known for having the tallest pot stills in Scotland, a design that promotes extended contact between spirit and copper and produces a notably light, delicate new-make character. Glenmorangie also helped pioneer the practice of extra maturation, aging whisky in a second cask type after its initial rest, and Nectar d'Or stands as one of the most refined results of that approach.

The whisky begins with a minimum of ten years in traditional ex-bourbon American oak, building Glenmorangie's signature clean, fruity backbone. It is then extra matured in hand-selected Sauternes barriques sourced from Bordeaux, the celebrated sweet wine region of France, which impart layers of dessert-like richness. Bottled at 46% ABV and left non-chill filtered, the whisky retains a fuller texture and preserves the delicate aromatics the distillery is known for.

The nose opens with lemon tart, honeycomb, and white chocolate, joined by toasted almond and a whisper of citrus zest. On the palate, crème brûlée and poached pear meet ginger, nutmeg, and golden raisin, all wrapped in silky sweetness. The finish lingers long, closing on vanilla, lemon zest, and a final trace of warm baking spice.
