Kilchoman is a family-owned farm distillery on Islay, founded in 2005 by Anthony Wills and one of the island's newest but most respected names in Scotch whisky. Unlike most Islay producers, Kilchoman grows and malts a portion of its own barley on-site, keeping the entire process, from field to bottle, tightly connected within a single farm. That close relationship between agriculture and distillation has become central to the distillery's identity and its reputation for bright, expressive peat character.

Loch Gorm is Kilchoman's annual limited release matured entirely in Oloroso sherry, named for the dark, peaty loch that overlooks the distillery. The 2026 edition spent a minimum of ten years in 500-liter Oloroso sherry butts from Bodega José y Miguel Martín in Jerez, made from a mix of Spanish and French oak and split between first-fill and refill casks. The spirit itself comes from barley malted to fifty parts per million phenol, then bottled at 46% ABV without chill filtration or added color.

The nose offers dried red fruit, roasted meat, toasted walnut, and rich peat smoke. On the palate, candied orange, salted caramel, dried prune, cinnamon, and nutmeg unfold alongside dark chocolate and well-integrated smoke, closing with a long, warming finish.
