Single Malts of Scotland is the flagship independent bottling range from Elixir Distillers, formerly known as Specialty Drinks, run by brothers Sukhinder and Rajbir Singh. The pair built their reputation in the whisky world through The Whisky Exchange, the online retailer they launched in 1999, before turning their attention to sourcing and bottling exceptional casks under their own label. Alongside the classic Single Cask collection, the range includes a small-batch Reserve Casks series and an ultra-rare Director's Special line, both drawing on the Singhs' decades of cask-selecting experience.

This bottling is part of the Reserve Casks series and comes from Macduff, a Highland distillery on Scotland's northeast coast in Banffshire, known for producing a delicate, harmonious style of spirit shaped by its coastal setting. The whisky was distilled in 2011 and aged for twelve years across a small batch of three Oloroso sherry butts, bottled at 48% ABV as a limited, U.S.-exclusive release.

The nose opens with orchard fruit, green apple, and pear, layered with light honey sweetness and a faint coastal salinity. On the palate, sweet malt and honey mix with baked apple, orange zest, white pepper, and hazelnut, closing with soft oak and a lingering, gentle saltiness.
