2018 Billecart-Salmon - Extra Brut 250th Anniversary Cuvee (750ml)
A once-in-a-lifetime Champagne — made for a once-in-a-lifetime celebration.
Founded in 1818 by the marriage of Nicolas François Billecart and Elisabeth Salmon, Billecart-Salmon has spent over two centuries earning its reputation as one of Champagne's finest family-owned Houses — renowned above all for finesse, elegance, and an unwavering commitment to balance.
Created exclusively for the American market to mark the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence — and the House's own 200th harvest — this cuvée draws 100% from Grand Cru and Premier Cru fruit: 65% Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims and 35% Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs, aged 63 months on lees with a minimal dosage of just 4.9g/l.
Subtle and refined, the wine reveals its true class on the palate — a powerful, energetic mid-palate gives way to a chalky, beautifully structured finish that is pure and precise. Real power with no heaviness whatsoever, with the Chardonnay lending a finely chiseled structure throughout.
2018 was one of Champagne's exceptional vintages — generous, ripe, and structured. This is a collector's bottle and a serious Champagne in equal measure.
