Gin Mare Mediterranean Gin 750ml

Gin Mare comes from the Giró Ribot family, who have worked in wine and spirits since 1835 and first entered the gin business in 1940 with the launch of Gin MG. Decades later, brothers Marc and Manuel Giró set out to create something new, distilling their Mediterranean-inspired gin inside a converted eighteenth-century chapel in Vilanova i la Geltrú, a fishing town between the Costa Brava and Costa Daurada.

The gin is built from nine botanicals, including juniper, coriander, and cardamom alongside Arbequina olives, basil, rosemary, and thyme, plus two varieties of orange and a Spanish lemon. Each botanical is macerated separately in neutral grain spirit, anywhere from a day or two up to nearly a year for the citrus peels, before being distilled individually in a custom Florentine still. The distillates are then blended together with spring water to create the final gin.

The nose leads with rosemary, thyme, and basil, giving way to a briny olive note and bright citrus underneath. On the palate it is smooth and savory, with herbal depth balanced by a clean, juniper-forward finish. It shines in a classic gin and tonic garnished with a sprig of rosemary, or alongside olives and grilled seafood.
