The VSOP introduced you to Godet's elegance. The XO is where that elegance deepens into something truly memorable. With an average age of 25 years, this extraordinary blend draws from both Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne — the two most prestigious crus in the Cognac region — and is matured and assembled in Godet's ocean-facing cellars in La Rochelle, where the Atlantic character that defines the house has been imparted to their spirits for over four centuries.

The nose offers subtle notes of jasmine and violet, hinting at power and complexity before it even touches the glass. Honey, prune, and old leather follow one after another.  In the mouth, freshness and aromatic subtlety give way to a deep rancio — that rich, nutty, oxidative complexity that only comes with serious age — married to lingering fragrant notes.  Gilbert & Gaillard call it "extremely archetypal — rich and harmonious at entry, leading into a perfumed mid-palate and a spice-driven finish.
