Marie Brizard is a French liqueur house founded in Bordeaux in 1755, considered the country's first master liqueurist. The company built its early reputation on its original anisette recipe before expanding into a broad catalog of fruit, herb, and spice-based liqueurs. Today the house exports its liqueurs to more than 120 countries, and No. 33 White Mint remains part of its core numbered range, distinguishing it from the darker, green-hued crème de menthe made by many competitors.

No. 33 is based on essential oils extracted from fresh mint leaves, drawn out through distillation of the plant itself rather than simple infusion or flavoring. The distillate is rectified three times, a repeated purification process that concentrates the mint's character and sharpens its intensity while keeping the liqueur completely clear and colorless. This makes it a useful base for cocktails where a mint flavor is wanted without altering the drink's final hue, in contrast to Marie Brizard's green-tinted mint liqueur.

The nose is fresh, powerful, and unmistakably mint-forward, while the palate is sweet, smooth, and full-bodied, carrying a thick, almost candy-like texture. The finish is long and cooling, with a gentle tingling sensation and little trace of alcohol heat.
