Patron Cristalino Anejo Tequila 375ml
Patrón built its reputation on ultra premium tequila after launching in 1989, and production continues today at Hacienda Patrón, the brand's own distillery in the Jalisco highlands. Cristalino Añejo extends that legacy into a category still relatively new to American drinkers, one that pairs the depth of a barrel aged tequila with the visual clarity typically associated with an unaged blanco.
This expression begins as a fully matured añejo, resting in a combination of American, French, and Hungarian oak barrels for twelve to fifteen months, longer than the minimum required for the category. Once the tequila has drawn out the color and character it needs from the wood, it goes through a charcoal filtration process that strips away the golden hue while preserving the flavors developed during aging. Made from just three ingredients, Blue Weber agave, water, and yeast, the finished spirit ends up crystal clear despite its extended time in barrel.
The nose opens with agave, salty brine, and citrus, layered with melted butter, caramel, and a touch of grass. On the palate, agave leads into black pepper before giving way to butterscotch, tangerine, and caramel, with dried apricot and vanilla lingering into the finish. The result is smooth and easy sipping, without the heavier oak weight of a traditional añejo.
