Distilled strictly according to United States bourbon regulations and aged a minimum of four years in charred new American oak, Rowan’s Creek delivers a consistently structured spirit free from added colorants or flavor extracts. The extended maturation draws out lignin-derived compounds that naturally sweeten the fermented mash, while seasonal warehouse temperatures drive the liquid deeper into the wood staves during warm months and pull it back outward when cold. This natural thermal cycling builds a concentrated flavor matrix without requiring external enrichment.

On the palate, initial notes of toasted vanilla and baked stone fruit are grounded by a dry oak backbone that prevents cloying sweetness or thin mouthfeel. The experience concludes with a moderate charcoal bitterness that lingers cleanly without generating respiratory heat or synthetic sharpness. Produced under the Heaven Hill Brands umbrella as part of the Heritage Creek portfolio, every 750ml container retains the exact oxidation level and viscosity established during final filtration and cask bottling.

The balanced sugar-to-tannin ratio makes this straight bourbon highly functional for both direct consumption and cocktail preparation. Decant directly into room-temperature glassware to allow volatile aromatic compounds to rise before dilution occurs. When mixing, utilize this formula as a reliable base in Old Fashioneds, Manhattans, or carbonated highballs, where its restrained spice integrates cleanly with Angostura bitters, orange peel oils, and club soda.

"This has a wonderful soft silky texture. The pear, honey and spice notes come out on the nose and mid-palate, then hazelnuts on the finish. The higher proof on this bourbon is not apparent on the long lingering finish. D&M Tasting Notes

Rowan's Creek is stored in charred oak barrels. It is hand bottled at 50.05% alc./vol. (100.1 proof). Rowan's Creek is made and bottled by hand, in small lots, one batch at a time.

The Bourbon takes its namesake from the creek that still runs through the distillery. Back in the late 1700's when John Rowan first settled around Bardstown , whiskey making was the order of the day. John went on and made a name for himself as a well respected judge and statesmen. The judge is long since gone, but the creek that still bears his name is still carrying the best limestone spring water there ever was for making good Bourbon, so you know the whiskey making is still going on. Try a sip of it, straight up in a snifter, or add a dab of branch water if you like.
