Vicente Bosch Anis del Mono Dulce Liqueur 700ml
Destilerías Vicente Bosch has been distilling in the Catalan coastal town of Badalona since the late nineteenth century, when founder Vicente Bosch built the brand around one of Spain's most recognizable liqueurs. The distinctive diamond-patterned bottle was inspired by a perfume flask Bosch purchased in Paris as a gift for his wife, while the brand's name and playful monkey emblem trace back to a live monkey he once received as a business gift. That whimsical origin story has followed the label ever since, even inspiring the name of a popular Chilean holiday cocktail made with imported bottles of the liqueur.
Anís del Mono Dulce is produced using traditional methods that have changed little over the generations. Aniseed and other aromatic botanicals are distilled in copper pot stills to extract their essential oils, then blended with neutral alcohol, demineralized water, and cane sugar. The mixture is gently agitated and filtered before bottling, a process designed to preserve the purity and delicacy of the aniseed character.
The result is a smooth, sweet liqueur with pronounced anise and licorice notes, backed by subtle herbal complexity and a silky texture. It's traditionally served chilled or over ice as a digestif, and pairs beautifully with almond pastries, dark chocolate, or a plate of aged cheese.
