Domaine Saint Andrieu sits in the hills above the village of Correns in the Var, discovered in 2003 by Jean-Paul and Nancy Bignon, who also own Château Talbot, a Grand Cru Classé estate in Saint-Julien. After acquiring the property, the couple carried out an extensive restoration of the old Provençal farmhouse and winemaking facilities while working to preserve the surrounding landscape. The estate holds Haute Valeur Environnementale and Bee Friendly certifications, reflecting its focus on biodiversity and low-impact farming across land shaped by natural springs and rolling terraces.
L'Oratoire comes from roughly fifteen hectares on the northern, higher part of the property, where a cooler, windier microclimate and deep clay-limestone soils set it apart from the domaine's other cuvées. The blend leans on Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah, harvested plot by plot as each parcel reaches optimal ripeness. After a brief skin contact, the grapes are gently pressed and fermented separately by plot in stainless steel at a controlled sixteen to eighteen degrees, preserving freshness and definition in the finished wine.
The 2025 vintage pours a pale copper hue and opens with aromas of white peach, alpine strawberry and citrus blossom. The palate stays lively and well balanced, with bright citrus zest carrying through to a clean finish marked by pink grapefruit and a faint trace of peach pit. It works nicely with chilled shellfish, olive tapenade or a simple charcuterie board.
