Alma del Jaguar Anejo Single Barrel #46 (98.4pf) Tequila 750ml
Another barrel, another obsession. Paul and Rodrigo went back to the well and pulled Barrel #46 — a hair hotter than #49 at 98.4 proof, and its own distinct expression of what this extraordinary distillery can do when nothing is blended away or filtered out.
Crafted at the fifth-generation Vivanco family distillery in Los Altos, Jalisco — NOM 1414 — using highlands agave grown above 6,800 feet, slow-cooked for 54 hours in traditional brick ovens, and double-distilled in copper pot stills. Fermented with a signature blend of 80% wild yeast and 20% Champagne yeast then aged in a combination of American and French oak — every barrel tells its own story.
At cask strength with no chill filtration, Barrel #46 delivers the full, uncut character of Los Altos añejo: expect the hallmark notes of caramel, coconut, toasted vanilla, and baking spice, threaded with the wild herbal agave brightness that only highland terroir at this elevation can produce. Bold, layered, and built for sipping slowly.
Every bottle supports jaguar conservation through the Northern Jaguar Project in Sonora, Mexico — protecting the northernmost wild jaguar population on earth. A great pick with a great cause behind it.
