2018 Le Bertille - Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG
The 2018 Le Bertille Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG delivers a classic Sangiovese profile built on high-elevation organic vineyards and extended wooden aging under the Roberti family’s stewardship. Since founding the estate in 2002, Saverio Roberti has passed operations to his daughters Olimpia and Oretta, who maintain strict organic farming across twenty-two hectares located roughly two kilometers from Montepulciano’s historic center.
Terroir & Production Details
Vines thrive at approximately 400 meters above sea level in tufaceous, clay-rich soils that naturally regulate water retention and promote deep root development. The wine follows traditional regional blending practices, anchoring the palate primarily with Sangiovese while integrating smaller portions of Canaiolo and Colorino to enhance aroma complexity. Following fermentation, the batch matures in wood for nearly two years before undergoing an additional twelve-month bottle rest, ensuring integrated tannins and layered depth.
