Producer

Le Cinciole is a small, certified organic estate founded in 1992 by Valeria Viganò and Luca Orsini in Panzano in Chianti, one of the most celebrated growing areas within the Chianti Classico zone. The winery produces six wines, each reflecting the character of the estate and the Panzano terroir, with the Chianti Classico serving as the heart of the collection. The estate has built a reputation as a benchmark for elegant, terroir-driven Sangiovese through careful vineyard work, low yields, and restrained, traditional aging.

Growing and Production

The organically farmed vineyards sit at 430 to 470 meters of elevation on sandstone, clay, and schist soils, planted at high density. The wine is 100% Sangiovese, fermented in cement vats, then racked into large 20-hectoliter botti for about twelve months of aging, a method built around letting the site speak clearly through the finished wine.

Tasting Notes

This vintage shows bright, floral elegance, unfurling gradually into a lively mix of red and purplish fruits, along with mint, spice, and subtle saline notes. Underlying cherry and dried herb tones add further layers of complexity, while the palate stays fresh and food-friendly. It pairs beautifully with grilled sausages, roasted lamb, or aged pecorino.

93 Points
"The 2019 Chianti Classico is bright, floral and super-expressive, but it also

needs a ton of air to open. Vibrant red/purplish fruit, mint, spice and saline

accents emerge with time. Le Cinciole's Chianti Classico is once again one

of the most distinctive wines in the appellation
