Ferdinand Winery is a family-run estate in the village of Kojsko, in Slovenia's Goriška Brda region, founded by first-generation winemaker Matjaž Četrtič. The winery treats winemaking as a careful, patient craft, hand-picking grapes with the help of family and friends and paying close attention to each stage from vineyard to cellar. Its wines have earned growing recognition among critics and wine competitions, spanning fresh, mineral-driven whites as well as more structured, oak-aged bottlings.

This wine is made from Rebula, known in Italy as Ribolla Gialla, the signature white grape of Goriška Brda and one grown in the region for centuries. The vineyards sit on opoka, a layered marl and sandstone soil that lends structure and minerality, in a spot where warm Adriatic air meets cooler currents from the nearby Alps. That combination extends the growing season while keeping natural acidity intact. The grapes are harvested by hand and vinified with traditional care typical of the region's best producers.

The 2018 vintage shows a bright, aromatic profile of citrus peel, stone fruit, and delicate florals, framed by a distinct mineral edge and firm, lively acidity. Medium-bodied and refreshing, it has enough texture to stand up to richer dishes without losing its lift. It works well alongside grilled fish, goat cheese, or a simple plate of feta and olives.
