2023 Domaine Labbe - Pinot Noir Savoie (750ml)
Domaine Labbé is a ten-hectare family estate located in the village of Abymes, fifteen kilometers south of Chambéry, founded in 1975 by brothers Roger and Marc Labbé. Their children, cousins Alexandra and Jérôme Labbé, took over the operation in 2004 and now farm the property as third-generation stewards of the land, working within the cool, mountainous terrain of the Savoie appellation that neighbors Switzerland along the upper Rhône.
This bottling is crafted from Pinot Noir grown on the estate's cool-climate sites, where the grapes ripen slowly and retain natural acidity and lifted aromatics. The wine undergoes a maceration of around twelve days, a duration chosen to extract soft, supple tannins while preserving the variety's delicate perfume rather than pushing toward heavier extraction or oak influence.
The result is a light, perfumed red with aromas of ripe raspberry and cherry blossom, layered with baking spice, red apple skin, and a touch of mountain minerality. The tannins are soft and rounded, giving the wine an easy, approachable structure. It pairs well with roast poultry, charcuterie, or mild and soft cheeses.
