Gál Tibor is a Hungarian winery based in Eger, a wine region with nearly a thousand years of history spread across the southern slopes of the Bükkalja hills in northeastern Hungary. The estate crafts Egri Csillag, meaning star of Eger, a traditional white field blend named for the glittering watchmen's huts that once guided merchants toward the town. It is made from a mix of local and international white varieties grown on the family's own vineyards.

The 2024 vintage comes from the Tornyos, Síkhegy, and Pajados vineyards, planted on volcanic rhyolite tuff soil and facing southeast on a gentle slope. The year brought the earliest harvest on record, more than three weeks ahead of a typical season, with grapes reaching full ripeness and higher natural sugars; picking early helped preserve freshness despite the accelerated growing season. The blend combines grapes like Olaszrizling, Harslevelu, Viognier, Tramini, Szurkebarat, and Pinot Blanc, hand harvested and gently pressed before fermentation.

The wine is pale golden in the glass, with aromas of white flowers, gooseberry, ripe pear, and lemon peel, joined by a light tropical note. On the palate it is medium bodied and juicy, with firm acidity, savory citrus flavors, and a lingering, salty mineral finish. It works well as an aperitif or alongside light salads and seafood.
