2025 Domaine Barcelo - Rose VdP de l'Ile de Beaute (750ml)

Domaine Barcelo is a family-run estate that has cultivated vines in Corsica, the island the French call the "Île de Beauté," since 1985. The Barcelo family has spent nearly four decades tending roughly fifteen hectares of vineyards, blending traditional island winemaking with more modern techniques while farming sustainably to protect the local soils and biodiversity that make Corsican viticulture distinct from its mainland neighbors.

The 2025 rosé draws on Corsica's varied geology, which includes granite, schist, limestone, and clay across the island's mountainous terrain. This diversity encourages slow, even ripening in the traditional grape varieties used, chiefly Sciaccarellu and Niellucciu along with some Grenache, allowing the fruit to develop a more layered aromatic profile than a faster maturation would produce.

The wine pours a pale, luminous pink and offers an expressive nose of pomegranate, fresh cherry, and red berries, layered with citrus notes of blood orange and lime along with subtle floral accents. On the palate it is light and lively, with a soft, well balanced texture and a clean finish. It suits grilled meats, charcuterie, and salads, and works especially well as a warm weather aperitif.
