FAAA! is a project of Bodega Familia Deicas, a Uruguayan winery founded in 2000 by the Deicas family, whose forebears emigrated from the Alpine town of Bormio, Italy, and established their first winery in the country back in 1978. Today the estate is guided by third-generation winemaker Santiago Deicas, who favors a minimal-intervention approach that includes neutral oak, clay amphorae, and co-fermentation of different grape varieties across the family's roughly 60 hectares of vineyards scattered through some of Uruguay's most varied sites.

This Albariño comes from a single vineyard planted in 2009 in Juanico, a subregion of Canelones near Uruguay's Atlantic coast. The vines sit on chalky clay soils, and Juanico's temperate, coastal climate allows for a slow ripening period that helps the grapes retain natural acidity while developing a distinct salinity. The Deicas family has been at the forefront of establishing Uruguay as a serious growing region for Albariño outside its native Galicia.

The wine opens with fresh apricot, honeydew melon, white peach, and spring flowers, along with a touch of lemon zest. On the palate it is bright and medium-bodied, with a crisp, mineral backbone and a saline edge that carries through the finish. Enjoy it on its own, or pair it with salads and seafood-driven dishes.
