Quinta da Raza traces its roots to Casa do Outeiro, a manor house in Veade dating to the 17th century, with the Teixeira Coelho family's ownership of the surrounding land documented since 1769. Today the estate is run by fifth-generation winemaker Diogo Teixeira Coelho and his wife Mafalda, who farm around fifty hectares in the Basto sub-region of Vinho Verde, at roughly 250 meters altitude, where granite soils mix with pockets of clay and schist. The couple has built a reputation for pairing traditional methods, including hand harvesting, with a modern, exploratory approach to native grapes.

This Pet Nat is made from Vinhão and Padeiro, two red grape varieties native to the Basto region, following an ancestral method that lets wild yeasts carry out a spontaneous fermentation with minimal sulfur added. The wine finishes its fermentation inside the bottle, capturing its natural carbonation directly rather than through forced injection. The result is left unfiltered, so the fine sediment that forms during the process stays in the bottle and becomes part of the wine's character.

Cloudy pink in the glass, this sparkling wine shows fine, persistent bubbles and bright aromas of raspberry and wild strawberry. The palate is fresh and lively, with the natural sediment adding texture and complexity to the fruit. It makes a great aperitif or a fun pour for casual celebrations.
