2021 Ehrlich Vineyard - Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Inaugural vintage (750ml)
The Ehrlich family's Napa Valley story began in 1967, when Cliff and Patricia Ehrlich relocated from the East Coast to Southern California and took a fateful trip to wine country, falling for the valley after visits to early landmarks like Charles Krug and Robert Mondavi. In 1998 the couple became vineyard owners themselves, purchasing a parcel in the heart of Oakville alongside neighbors such as Opus One and Nickel & Nickel. For twenty-five years the family quietly supplied premium fruit to acclaimed producers including B Cellars, Groth, and Duckhorn before releasing their own label in 2023, guided by consulting winemaker Paul Hobbs.
This inaugural 2021 vintage comes from Block C, a two-acre section of the family's seven-acre estate planted in 2017 on the Oakville valley floor. Produced in a limited run of just 250 cases, it arrives from a growing season widely regarded as one of Napa's finest in a decade, giving the young vineyard an especially favorable debut.
The wine offers aromas of blueberry and raspberry compote layered with warm spice, cedar, and graphite. On the palate, fine-grained tannins carry the fruit through a long, polished finish. It pairs well with roast leg of lamb, grilled filet mignon, or a plate of hard, aged sheep's-milk cheese.
