2022 Anthill Farms - Pinot Noir Sonoma Jack Hill (750ml)
Anthill Farms emerged from the collaboration of Anthony Filiberti, David Low, and Webster Marquez—winemakers who first met at Williams Selyem in Sonoma. Their Pinot Noir program is guided by a belief that the variety’s transparency lets cool-climate sites speak clearly. Across a mosaic of North Coast vineyards, they farm small parcels with meticulous, low-impact viticulture.
Jack Hill sits above the Bodega Valley, just six miles from the Pacific, on Goldridge soils that push this cuvée to ripen later than Anthill’s other bottlings.
Fruit comes from Calera and 115 clones, with tiny forty-gram clusters that intensify flavor and structure.
About eighty percent of the fruit is used as whole clusters, native yeast drives a three-week fermentation with daily punchdowns, and the wine ages for twelve months in barrel, thirty percent of it in new French oak, before bottling. Only around 150 cases were produced.
The result is an elegant, perfumed Pinot Noir with real detail and lift, showing a silky texture balanced by fine, lingering tension rather than weight. Expect layers of red fruit and floral aromatics that unfold gradually in the glass.
Food pairings: roasted duck, grilled salmon, or a simple lentil stew.
