Roederer Estate Anderson Valley Brut

Roederer Estate’s non-vintage Brut embodies the California extension of Champagne Louis Roederer, rooted in Mendocino County’s cool, fog-kissed Anderson Valley. Since 1982, the family has farmed its own vineyards and carried over the house’s signature blend-and-reserve approach, resulting in a sparkling wine that honors tradition while expressing a distinctly West Coast character. This Brut is crafted from an estate-grown blend of roughly sixty percent Chardonnay and forty percent Pinot Noir, crafted with a cuvée-only press and a quiet, careful fermentation in stainless steel to preserve brightness and structure. Fermentation is kept lean with little to no malolactic activity, and the wine spends a minimum of two years aging on the lees, folding in ten to fifteen percent reserve wine from prior vintages to add depth without losing freshness.

  • Blend: ~60% Chardonnay and ~40% Pinot Noir, all estate-grown
  • Winemaking: cuvée-only pressing; stainless steel fermentation; little to no malolactic conversion
  • Aging: minimum two years on the lees; includes 10–15% reserve wine from prior vintages

Aroma, texture & finish

  • Nose: baked bread, toasted almond, and ripe pear, layered with citrus blossom and a hint of spice
  • Palate: green apple and lemon peel meet a creamy, fine-beaded mousse
  • Finish: long, dry, and mineral-driven

Food pairing and occasions

  • Oysters
  • Roasted poultry
  • Or simply a quiet toast on its own
97 Points
"Extremely fresh and floral with sliced apples, stones and some white peach. Bread dough, too. Fine bead. Medium to full body with crisp acidity and a steely finish. Hints of phenolics provide a fine texture. Vibrant acidity. About 15% reserve wine (mostly chardonnay) in this, from five vintages. 2.5 years on the lees. 60% chardonnay and 40% pinot noir."
—James Suckling-James Suckling
"Roederer Estate Brut is crisp and elegant with complex pear, spice and hazelnut flavors. It is fresh and lightly fruity with great finesse and depth of flavor.
