2021 TOR - Cabernet Sauvignon Vaca Ridge (750ml)

 Founded in 2001 by industry veteran Tor Kenward and his wife Susan, TOR built its reputation on single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay from historic Napa sites, with multiple 100-point scores in the portfolio. This is the first-ever Cabernet Sauvignon TOR has produced from Vaca Ridge, a highly anticipated new vineyard on a steep slope in the Vaca Mountains above Lake Hennessey, on the east side of Oakville, first planted by Bill Harter in 1974 on red, iron-rich soils prized by its famous neighbors. A blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Cabernet Franc, fermented 2-3 weeks on the skins and aged 18-20 months in French oak, unfined and unfiltered. Expect a big, ripe, sexy wine with red and blue fruit, chocolaty oak, and spicy incense nuances, backed by cedar, crushed stone, and dried herb notes. A genuinely exciting debut from a site positioned to become one of Napa's great Cabernet vineyards.
