Gurashvili is an artisanal Kakheti winery led by winemaker Zviad Gurashvili, who works without additives to produce natural wines with pronounced terroir character. His approach follows the traditional Kakheti method, fermenting and aging in qvevri, the underground clay vessels central to Georgia's ancient winemaking heritage.

This 100% Saperavi is fully fermented and macerated with its skins for around five months in qvevri buried in the ground, a process that gives the wine deep color along with full tannin structure. It's counted among the more traditional, tradition-rich Saperavi bottlings from the region, prized by those seeking an authentic expression of Kakheti's qvevri winemaking style.

In the glass, expect a deep ruby hue with complex aromas of blackberry, cherry, mocha, and spice. The palate offers juicy tannins and balanced acidity, layered with rich dark fruit flavors that build to a dense, lingering finish. As is typical of Saperavi, young examples can show real muscle and tannic grip, with the best bottlings developing savory complexity that invites comparison to Barolo or Hermitage as they age.

This is a classic, expressive Saperavi that pairs beautifully with steak, lamb, or burgers, and it carries excellent cellaring potential for those who want to watch it evolve.
