2023 Flowers - Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast (750ml)

Flowers Vineyards & Winery 2023 Pinot Noir from the Sonoma Coast is a precise reflection of the estate’s coastal terroir and minimal-intervention ethos. Founded in 1989 by Walt and Joan Flowers, Pennsylvania nursery owners who spotted an ad for undeveloped coastal acreage, the winery helped pioneer the far Sonoma Coast. In 2009 the estate aligned with Huneeus Vintners to secure its long-term future, and since 2012 Winemaker Chantal Forthun has steered production toward site transparency and restrained, artisanal handling.

Fruit for this bottling is drawn from vineyards scattered across the greater Sonoma Coast appellation, farmed organically and harvested by hand. Fermentation relies on native yeasts, and the wine rests in French oak barrels, only a portion of them new, before bottling without fining or filtration to preserve the coastal freshness the estate is known for. The wine is presented in a 750 ml bottle.

The glass reveals lifted spice alongside compact red berries, Bing cherry, rose petal, and sweet herbs, layered over a savory undercurrent of forest floor and a lingering saline edge. Medium-bodied and polished, with fine-grained tannins.

Food pairings: grilled duck breast, herb-rubbed lamb, or a simple aged Gouda.
