Domaine Lécheneaut is a family estate in Nuits-Saint-Georges founded in the late 1950s by Fernand Lécheneaut with just over two hectares of vineyard. His sons Philippe and Vincent took over in the mid-1980s, expanding the domaine's holdings and beginning to bottle wine under the estate's own name rather than selling it off in bulk to négociants. Today the family farms around 12 hectares across more than 20 appellations in the Côte de Nuits, with Vincent's son Jules now also involved as Philippe approaches retirement, and the estate has built a reputation for organically farmed, precise Pinot Noir.

This Bourgogne Rouge is made from Pinot Noir grown across the domaine's village-level parcels in the Côte de Nuits, reflecting the same attention to detail the family applies to its premier cru bottlings. Following harvest, the grapes are typically destemmed before fermentation, and the wine matures for around 18 months in oak, with roughly a third new wood used across the cellar. This measured approach to oak aims to let the fruit and site character come through rather than overwhelming the wine with wood influence.

The wine shows a bright ruby color with fresh red fruit, floral, and light spice notes on the nose. On the palate it is medium-bodied and elegant, with silky tannins and lively acidity that give it real charm alongside a sense of structure beyond its village-level classification.
