From the rugged and remote pockets of Fort Ross-Seaview, Sea Field represents RAEN's most elegant terroir — a hillside site sitting at 1,200 feet, only a couple of miles inland from the Pacific Ocean, where the vines were planted over 40 years ago, among the oldest Pinot Noir plantings on the coast. Farming is organic and regenerative, the wines made with native fermentations, whole-cluster use, and aging in neutral French oak — resulting in a style that is lifted, aromatic, and precise, emphasizing finesse, energy, and transparency over ripeness or weight.

The 2024 Sea Field is powerful and tightly wound — dark-toned fruit, leather, cedar, spice, incense, and dried rose petal infusing the wine with tremendous complexity. A potent, deep Pinot Noir that packs a tremendous punch. Salivating acidity and a spine of searing tannins give Sea Field its shape and insistent, driving personality — bright saline notes extending the nuanced, bracing finish.

Antonio Galloni calls the 2024s some of the finest wines he has ever tasted from RAEN, with extraordinary balance across the lineup. Sea Field is the crown jewel. Cellar it or give it at least two hours of air. Drink 2027–2038.

98 Points
"Aromas of seaweed, fresh and dried strawberries, salt and white pepper. Medium- to full-bodied, showing persistence, intensity and structure, with firm, muscular tannins. Long, lightly chewy finish. Needs three to four years to soften, but a solid wine. Best in 2028 and beyond."
