2024 Spottswoode - Sauvignon Blanc Napa (750ml)
Spottswoode’s 2024 Sauvignon Blanc presents a bright, nuanced embrace of Napa Valley and Sonoma’s coastal influence. Fifty-seven percent of the fruit comes from Sonoma County, with forty-three percent drawn from Napa, including Hyde Vineyard in Carneros and the Calistoga sites of Heitz Brothers and Tofanelli, alongside Spottswoode’s own estate vineyard. A small addition of Sémillon rounds the blend, adding perfume and a touch of richness to the finish.
Winemaking & Texture
Winemaker Aron Weinkauf ferments and ages the wine across a thoughtful mix of vessels—French oak, stainless steel, clay amphora, and concrete—each contributing its own texture and mineral lift. This approach yields a Sauvignon Blanc that stays crisp and lively while developing subtle depth, with an overall profile that avoids leaning too oak-driven.
Tasting Notes
The nose opens with white peach, lime zest, jasmine, and crushed herbs. On the palate, flavors of grapefruit, kiwi, and green melon glide along vibrant, precise acidity. The finish remains long and refined, balancing fruit intensity with mineral to keep it lively from first sip to the last.
Pairings
