Kir-Yianni was founded in 1997 by Yiannis Boutaris after he left the historic Boutari family business. Based in Naoussa, the estate cultivates vineyards on both sides of Mount Vermio in northern Greece, in Naoussa and Amyndeon. It is now led by his son Stellios Boutaris, a fifth-generation winemaker who emphasizes site-specific winemaking and sustainability. In 2024 the winery became the first in Greece to join International Wineries for Climate Action.

The 2025 Kir-Yianni Assyrtiko The North PGI Florina is 100% Assyrtiko, a grape native to Santorini, grown here at about 700 meters in the Agios Panteleimon district of Amyndeon. Poor, sandy soils keep yields low and concentrate aromas, while cool nights preserve freshness. The wine is fermented in stainless steel, then rests on fine lees in tank for four to five months before bottling at 13.5% alcohol. It sees no oak.

Vibrant lemon-yellow in the glass, this white offers fresh apple and citrus aromas with white blossom and a touch of tropical fruit. The palate is crisp and taut, with a stony, mineral edge and bright acidity driving a linear, cooler style than island Assyrtiko. The finish is clean and lingering.
