Berta Grappa di Nebbiolo Tresolitre 2008 Grappa 750ml
Crafted from 2008 Nebbiolo pomace at the historic Berta distillery in Mombaruzzo, this 750ml expression honors the legendary three-liter “Tre Soli Tre” vessel tradition while delivering focused intensity suited to dedicated collectors and digestif service.
Single-vintage grappas capture the exact weather patterns and sugar levels of the Langhe harvest season. The carefully separated pomace undergoes extended maturation before bottling, allowing the naturally high tannin structure of Nebbiolo to soften into distinct elegance. Every pour presents layered aromatics of dried rose, black cherry, and characteristic Neapolitan tar, transitioning smoothly into cured leather, pipe tobacco, dark chocolate, and forest floor nuances.
- Aroma: Dried rose petals, tar, dark cherry, autumnal truffle
- Palate: Silky texture, commanding structure, profound complexity
- Finish: Persistent notes of leather, cocoa, and toasted espresso
Serve as a digestif at room temperature using a tulip-shaped glass to concentrate the volatile aromatic compounds. The refined yet heavy-bodied profile pairs cleanly with aged hard cheeses like Parmigiano Reggiano (24 months or older), dry-cured bresaola, 70% dark chocolate, or mushroom-heavy risottos. Slight chilling can also calm the alcohol heat and highlight the fruit-forward opening.
Berta has operated its Mombaruzzo facility as a vertically integrated estate for generations, maintaining direct oversight from grape crushing through final filtration. This continuous chain ensures consistent purity and predictable terroir expression that defines premium Piedmontese productions.
