Macallan Harmony Collection Phoenix Honey Orchid Tea Single Malt Whiskey 750ml

The Macallan has built its reputation in Speyside on a deep commitment to sherry cask maturation, a philosophy that runs through everything the distillery releases, including its limited annual Harmony Collection. Now in its fifth chapter, Harmony explores a different flavor inspiration each year while experimenting with sustainable packaging drawn from organic byproducts. For this edition, The Macallan partnered with the tea house JING, translating one of its teas into whisky form and using repurposed tea leaves within the presentation box itself.

This release draws its inspiration from Phoenix Honey Orchid, an oolong grown on the Phoenix Mountain range in Guangdong, China, prized for its lush, dessert wine-like aromas and exotic fruit character. The whisky is matured predominantly in sherry-seasoned American oak, joined by sherry-seasoned European oak that lends roasted depth and a light tannic edge. A small proportion of casks that previously held bourbon rounds out the blend with an extra layer of sweetness, echoing the tea's own dessert wine quality. It is bottled at 43.9 percent ABV.

The nose offers peach and apricot alongside floral honey and tropical fruit, with toffee and sweet oak underneath. On the palate, peaches in syrup meet warm citrus and toffee, with delicate florals fading into a leafy astringency. The finish is fruity, sweet, and layered.
