Mijenta Tequila is crafted under the direction of Maestra Tequilera Ana María Romero, one of the few female master distillers in the industry and a professional nose capable of identifying hundreds of distinct aromas. Inspired by the phrase "mi gente," meaning "my people," the brand centers its identity on Mexican craftsmanship and community, sourcing agave from the highlands of Arandas, Jalisco. Mijenta also builds sustainability into its process, using agave waste for packaging and partnering with local communities on reforestation efforts across the region.

The Reposado begins as Mijenta's own Blanco, distilled from fully mature Blue Weber agave grown in the highlands' mineral-rich red soil. After distillation, the spirit rests for up to six months in a blend of American white oak, French oak, and French acacia casks, a combination chosen to layer in complexity while still leaving room for the agave to keep developing during aging. The barrels are filled to specific levels to allow for oxygenation, letting the spirit expand and contract with the day's temperature shifts and draw flavor from the wood.

The nose offers cooked agave, honey, and vanilla, layered with bergamot, orange blossom, and a hint of cacao. On the palate, that honeyed sweetness continues alongside cooked pear and apple, rounded out by butterscotch and a touch of white pepper. The finish runs medium to long, closing warm and spicy with cinnamon and clove before a final return of agave sweetness. It's best enjoyed neat or over a large ice cube, where its layered aromatics have room to open up.
