NV Graham's - Porto Tawny Port 10 Year Old

The house of Graham's was founded in 1820 by brothers William and John Graham, and the Symington family, who joined the firm decades later, purchased the estate outright in the twentieth century and has produced its wines ever since. Now in its fifth generation of family winemaking, the Symingtons remain hands on in the cellar, with Charles Symington overseeing the blending and aging of Graham's celebrated range of Tawny Ports. The house draws on vineyards across the Douro Valley and on an inventory of old reserve wines built up over decades.

This 10 Year Old is blended from a range of vintages and aged in seasoned oak casks for an average of a decade, a process that gradually softens the wine's structure and shifts its color from deep ruby toward amber. Periodic tasting and blending across multiple casks ensures a consistent house style year after year, drawing on both the art of cooperage and generations of accumulated blending knowledge before the final wine is bottled without a stated vintage.

The color is a deep tawny hue, with a nose of toasted walnuts, honey, and dried figs. On the palate it is rich and mellow, showing mature orchard and stone fruit flavors that lead into a long, gently warming finish. It makes an excellent match for spiced desserts such as apple tart, or for aged hard cheeses.
