Buffalo Trace Wheatley Vodka 750ml

Wheatley Vodka is made at Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky, and named for Harlen Wheatley, the distillery's Master Distiller since 2005. Wheatley joined Buffalo Trace in 1995 as a supervisor, holding both a chemistry and a chemical engineering degree, and rose to become the distillery's sixth Master Distiller since the Civil War. Long interested in creating a premium vodka, he built the recipe around wheat, drawing on the same expertise Buffalo Trace applies to its acclaimed bourbon program.

Wheatley Vodka is crafted from red winter wheat and locally sourced limestone-filtered water, the same base ingredients used across several of the distillery's bourbon offerings. Production runs through Wheatley's proprietary micro-still, where two separate grain recipes are each distilled seven times before being combined and distilled three additional rounds, for a total of ten distillations. The finished spirit then passes through a triple filtration process before being bottled at 82 proof in small batches.

The nose is pure and crisp, showing light citrus, soft grain, and clean mineral notes. On the palate, the vodka turns smooth and silky, with delicate vanilla and soft wheat sweetness carrying through the sip. It finishes crisp and clean, with no harsh burn, closing on a warm hint of soft vanilla that lingers briefly.
