Leaf (Alaskan Glacial Water) Vodka 1L
Leaf is part of a small line of vodkas built around the idea that water source defines a spirit's character, with each expression named for the distinctive water that goes into it. This bottling draws on glacial water from Alaska's Blue Lake, fed by four glaciers descending from the surrounding mountains, chosen specifically for its natural purity. The base spirit itself is distilled in Temperance, Michigan, bringing together Midwest grain production with a uniquely sourced Alaskan finishing water to create a vodka the brand markets as a taste of true wilderness.
Leaf is made from 100% certified organic wheat and distilled five times, with an additional triple decanting step performed prior to filtration to further refine the spirit. The defining choice comes at the end of the process, when the vodka is brought down to proof using unfiltered Alaskan glacial water rather than treated or demineralized water, a decision that leaves a subtle mineral character intact rather than stripping it away. The finished vodka is bottled at 40% ABV.
The nose is full-bodied for the style, offering faint dried fruit alongside a barely perceptible almond sweetness. On the palate, the vodka is clean, balanced, and notably mineral, with a silky, light-to-medium body and a bright, dryish quality that keeps it from feeling flat. The finish lingers gently, closing on a subtle trace of natural sweetness.
