McClintock Epiphany Organic Vodka 750ml
McClintock Distilling was founded in 2015 by Braeden Bumpers and Tyler Hegamyer, who built their distillery inside a century-old former mechanics garage in downtown Frederick, Maryland. The company operates as a USDA-certified organic distillery, guided by a stated philosophy of putting product, people, and planet ahead of profit. Epiphany Vodka has grown into one of the distillery's signature releases, earning recognition as a standout craft vodka in reader polls and industry tastings alike.
Epiphany is distilled from premium, non-GMO, organic white wheat sourced from local Maryland farms. The spirit passes through McClintock's combination pot and column still, distilled through 18 plates, some accounts describing this as double distillation and others counting it as 18 individual passes depending on how the still's plates are measured. From there, the vodka is triple filtered to strip out impurities while preserving its underlying wheat character, resulting in a notably textured, small-batch spirit rather than a purely neutral one.
The nose leads with soft, almost bread-like wheat notes, developing subtle almond character with time in the glass. On the palate, the vodka is velvety and soft, with creamy wheat and a touch of natural sweetness building toward a distinctive buttery quality. The finish is remarkably smooth, closing on that same rich, buttery note that sets Epiphany apart from more neutral commercial vodkas.
