Tito's Handmade Vodka is produced by Fifth Generation, Inc., the company founded in 1997 by Bert "Tito" Beveridge at the Mockingbird Distillery in Austin, Texas. Beveridge, who studied geology and geophysics before working in the oil and gas industry, taught himself to distill and secured the first legal distilling permit in the state's history. What began as a small operation producing just 1,000 cases in its first year has grown into one of the best-selling vodka brands in the country, though production remains centered at the original southeast Austin site.

Unlike vodkas made from wheat or potatoes, Tito's is distilled entirely from yellow corn, giving it a naturally gluten-free base and a softer, slightly sweet character. The spirit passes through old-fashioned copper pot stills six separate times, a labor-intensive process aimed at achieving maximum smoothness and clarity. It is left unaged and bottled at 80 proof, or 40% ABV, with the corn base contributing a rounded, gentle finish rather than the sharper edge found in grain or potato vodkas.

On the palate, Tito's is silky and clean, with subtle corn sweetness and a neutral, crisp finish that avoids any harsh burn. That versatility makes it equally suited to sipping chilled or serving as the backbone of a cocktail.

"You aren't paying for the bottle.

If we put it in a frosted, painted bottle then we would have to charge more. We'd rather put our money into the actual juice.Tito made this label himself in 1994.

We love it for its simplicity and authenticity?two elements at the core of everything we do.Our vodka is distilled from corn, so it's naturally gluten-free.

We're certified Gluten-Free by the Gluten Intolerance Group (GIG). Some folks add a bit of mash back into the spirit after distillation, which could add gluten, but we don't do that.Texas born and raised.

Tito built Texas' first legal distillery on 12 acres of land in southeast Austin, which he bought with a credit card check and financed through the seller.Harder, but worth it.

We use old-fashioned pot stills and taste-test every batch. Our process, similar to that used to make fine single malt scotches and high-end French cognacs, requires more skill and effort, but we think it's well worth it.
