Bushmills Original is a blend of the distillery's triple-distilled single malt whiskey, made from 100% malted Irish barley, and a lighter single grain whiskey held back for a minimum of five years before blending. Both components are matured in American oak, primarily seasoned bourbon casks, which shapes the whiskey's soft, approachable character. The result is bottled at 40% ABV and reflects the traditional triple distillation process that Irish whiskey is known for, producing a cleaner, lighter spirit than a typical double-distilled dram.

The nose offers light fruit, honeyed sweetness, and a touch of warm spice, with green apple and vanilla developing underneath.
