Domaine des Notes Bleues is the singular project of Cédric Mottet, who left a career in music for winemaking and named his small estate after the "blue notes" of jazz, an homage to the improvisational spirit he brings to the vineyard. Based in Mesnay in the heart of the Jura, the roughly six-hectare domaine has quickly become a reference point for natural and biodynamic wine in the region, with Mottet working the area's classic grapes, including Chardonnay, Savagnin, Poulsard, Pinot Noir, and Trousseau, on a plot-by-plot basis.

La Pierre comes from a parcel purchased from the Domaine des Granges Paquenesses, planted entirely to Chardonnay. Grapes are harvested by hand, and the wine is made without any cellar additives, reflecting Mottet's minimal-intervention philosophy. Whites at the domaine typically age at least two years in used oak barrels, a method chosen to build texture and complexity while letting the grape's natural minerality come through untouched by new wood.

The wine offers a vibrant, mineral-driven profile with aromas of white flowers, yellow-fleshed fruit, and lemon zest, along with a subtle salinity. The palate is taut and chiseled, carried by bright acidity to a long, saline finish. It pairs beautifully with oysters, ceviche, or fresh goat cheese.
