The Jermann winery traces its roots to 1881, when Anton Jermann left Austria's Burgenland wine region and settled in Farra d'Isonzo, in what is now Friuli-Venezia Giulia. The estate rose to international prominence under Anton's grandson, Silvio Jermann, who took over in the 1970s and steered the family business away from traditional sweet wines toward crisp, varietally pure whites. That shift helped put Friulian white wine on the global map, and today Jermann remains one of the region's most respected producers, known for consistently rich and characterful bottlings in a category often defined by simpler, mass-market versions.

This Pinot Grigio is grown in the Friuli DOC zone, where the grape has long found one of its most expressive homes in Italy. The fruit is harvested and fermented as a white wine, then left to age on its lees in stainless steel tanks for several months before a further rest in bottle, a method aimed at preserving freshness while building a fuller texture than typical Pinot Grigio.

The wine pours an intense straw-yellow with coppery highlights, offering aromas of crisp green apple, ripe pear, and white peach with a subtle lift of lemon balm. On the palate it is dry and velvety, full-bodied for the variety, with citrus and stone fruit flavors carried by a cool, mineral edge through a long finish. It pairs naturally with fish soups, grilled shellfish, or prosciutto and melon.
