Maison Trimbach has been at the heart of Alsace winemaking since 1626, and the family estate is now guided by the twelfth and thirteenth generations, with Hubert Trimbach working alongside his daughter Anne and nephews Jean and Pierre. Based around the villages of Ribeauvillé and Hunawihr, the family owns twenty-seven hectares of vineyards, including parcels of the Rosacker and Geisberg Grand Crus, and has built a house style defined by precision, restraint, and wines built to age gracefully rather than impress with sheer weight.

The 2018 growing season in Alsace was warm and sun-soaked, giving the grapes for this Réserve bottling excellent ripeness while the estate's cool, slow fermentation process preserved the wine's underlying freshness. In keeping with Trimbach's philosophy, malolactic fermentation is avoided and the wine is bottled early to lock in its aromatic clarity, then rested in the cellar before release so it arrives fully settled and ready to drink, though still built to develop further with time.

The nose offers ripe pear and yellow peach layered with a subtle smokiness, while the palate stays pure and focused, carrying notes of stone fruit and a touch of toasted spice through to a long, faintly nutty finish. This is a dry Pinot Gris with real gastronomic range, suited to roast poultry, creamy sauces, or firm cheeses.
