Rooted in centuries of winemaking heritage, Domaine Delaporte is one of Sancerre's most storied family estates. Located in the village of Chavignol, the domaine has been passed from father to son since the 17th century. Current winemaker Matthieu Delaporte took over in 2010 and has transformed the estate through lower yields, herbicide-free farming, and hand harvesting, which resumed in 2015. The domaine completed its conversion to certified organic agriculture beginning with the 2023 vintage.

The Sancerre Blanc is sourced from 30 parcels of clay-limestone soils. After hydraulic pressing, the wine ferments in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks and ages on fine lees for approximately six months before bottling.

The 2024 shows a very expressive, intense, and complex nose with notes of boxwood, rhubarb, blackcurrant, and kiwi. The entry is soft and round, with bright freshness on the palate, and a clean, lingering finish.

Food pairings:
  • Oysters on the half shell and other shellfish, especially with lemon or light vinaigrettes
  • Fresh goat cheese and other soft chèvre cheeses
  • Grilled white fish, seafood salads, and vegetable dishes with citrusy accents
